Wilhelm Pelizaeus, a merchant from Hildesheim, sponsored the excavations. Due to his financial sponsorship, the Roemer- und Pelizaeus-Museum Hildesheim today boasts one of the most important collections from the time of the great pyramids in the whole world. Dank seines Mazenatentums besitzt das Roemer- und Pelizaeus-Museum Hildesheim heute eine der weltweit bedeutendsten Sammlungen aus der Zeit der grossen Pyramiden. Dieser Begleitband zur neugestalteten Dauerausstellung lasst die Welt der Manner im Umkreis des Pharaos lebendig werden und offenbart ihre Uberzeugung, nach Uberwindung des Todes zu ewigem Leben in Gemeinschaft ihres Herrschers und der Gotter zu gelangen. |
