Few family-run vaccine producers survived over the decades as the regulatory rules tightened up and overseas companies sought to buy out worthy competitors. Websters had many world firsts when it came to combating major outbreaks of disease in animals, including Footrot and Canine Parvovirus, and its staff worked in the UK, US, 'Burma' and other countries to introduce their methods and vaccines.
